Financial and Data Analyst (Part-Time)

ACAM, Inc. is a 501(c)3 public charity and Management Support Organization (MSO) committed to supporting excellence in services and organizational development for community assistance ministries in the Greater Houston region. Our staff, ministry network and consulting partners include experts in homelessness prevention, public benefits access, economic development, nonprofit training, and basic needs/poverty research — creating a unique mix of capabilities to address today's interrelated poverty alleviation challenges. ACAM is located in the galleria area. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of: Financial and Data Analyst.
Description: In-office staff position with a consistent part-time schedule (20-25 hours per week) between 9:30am and 6:30 pm Monday through Friday. Those seeking contracts, telecommuting or clients for an outsourcing company need not apply. Hourly wage range: $17 - $22 p/hour.
Job Summary / Responsibilities: Coordinates financial/accounting operations, including overall financial monitoring and support/guidance to accounting contractors and project consultants, to ensure the fiscal well-being of the ACAM and its various projects. Ability to translate financial and statistical information for annual reports, marketing materials, grant reports and presentations into various formats such as tables, graphs, charts, and other infographics is highly desired. Provides operating and grant expense reporting, creates financial dashboards, tracks contract and program expenses, records in-kind and electronic donations and ensures compliance with donor requirements, analyzes financial data and project budgets, processes check requests, assists contracted accounting firms in the preparation of annual audit and tax forms and the monthly reconciliation of accounts. May assist in training network partner accounting staff on ACAM financial policies and procedures as needed. Responsible for presenting results of financial analysis to board members and other audiences as needed. Financial analysis and data visualization skills will be tested prior to a final offer being made.
Bachelor's Degree – Accounting, Finance, or Related Field.
3 - 5 Years of progressively responsible financial analysis experience in nonprofit environment. Nonprofit accounting and regulation, including Office of Management and Budget regulations (OMB) required.
Proficiency in spreadsheet and presentation software (Intermediate to Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills) aka "data visualization" skills
Quickbooks Nonprofit Edition experience required, Experience in accounts payable and receivable and in ensuring compliance with company’s system of internal controls is required.
Articulate, professional appearance and team-oriented. Able to communicate to in a poised, clear, and positive fashion with executive leadership, network partners and staff.
Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English
PREFERRED Nonprofit accounting experience. QuickBooks Certifications or extensive knowledge of QuickBooks reporting capabilities. If asked to interview, bringing work samples including financial analysis and chart and graph-making capability would be appreciated.
